PLANTED IN KATOUNA, GREECE IN 2016 BY AGRONOMIST APOSTOLOS
OUR STORY
WHERE SCIENCE MEETS SOIL, EXTRAORDINARY OLIVE OIL IS BORN
Medéleon began not with inheritance, but with intention.
In 2016, agronomist Apostolos stood on bare land in Katouna, Aetolia-Acarnania, and planted the first olive tree with his own hands. Then another. And another.
Over nine years ago, what started as a vision has now grown into thriving groves that produce some of Greece’s most exceptional extra virgin olive oil.

This is not a story of continuing family tradition, it’s about creating a new one. Every tree, every harvest, every bottle of Medéleon reflects a commitment to scientific excellence, regenerative agriculture, and the belief that truly great olive oil can heal both body and land.
WHERE SCIENCE MEETS SOIL
10 YEARS OF HISTORY
The Symbol of Medeleon
Medeleon’s emblem is not decorative.
It is a visual expression of land, history, and olive oil culture. The story behind our name and emblem.
Our emblem is a bridge between millennia. At its heart stands the ancient Greek tripod; a symbol of victory, honor, and divine offering that appears on coins excavated from ancient Medeon, the very land where our olive groves now flourish.
The tripod’s three legs represent the pillars of our philosophy: agronomic science, regenerative agriculture, and nutritional excellence. Just as ancient Greeks offered their finest to the gods, we offer olive oil of exceptional quality, a modern tribute to the land’s storied past.
From ancient symbol to modern brand: The tripod’s 2,500-year journey from Medeon’s coins to our bottles.
The name Medéleon itself honors this heritage: “Med” Medeon, the ancient city of Acarnania, where today the grove is located; Mediterranean, the cradle of olive cultivation; and Medicine, reflecting our olive oil’s scientifically proven health benefits
while “éléon” (ἔλαιον) is ancient Greek for oil. Every element tells our story: rooted in history, grown with science, healing with every harvest.

The Craftspeople
The Agronomist
Apostolos
Maltezos
With a background in agronomy and a passion for regenerative agriculture, he planted every tree in Medéleon’s Katouna groves with the goal of producing not just exceptional olive oil, but also restoring ecological health to the land!
His approach is meticulous: soil testing, precision irrigation, strategic pruning, and harvest timing calibrated to maximize both flavor and nutritional content. For Apostolos, olive cultivation is equal parts science, and ecological responsibility.
The Biologist
