THE OLIVE-GROWING TRADITION HAS FOUND HERE THE PERFECT PLACE TO FLOURISH

The grove

Healthy soil Healthy trees

The land beneath our olive trees is not just where we grow, it’s what we restore.

In Katouna, Aetolia-Acarnania, our 10-year journey has transformed bare soil into a thriving agroecosystem where biodiversity flourishes, carbon is sequestered, and every harvest improves the land’s vitality.

This is regenerative agriculture in action. Through cover cropping, no tillage, and natural soil amendments, we’ve created conditions where olive trees produce fruit of extraordinary quality while the earth beneath them grows richer with each season.

the perfect ecosystem

What gives soul to our olive oil is our land, with all its unique characteristics. We haven't forced nature, we've worked with it. Every agronomic decision, from planting density to understory vegetation, is designed to create synergy between the olive trees, the soil microbiome, and the broader ecosystem. Our goal is simple: become part of the natural rhythm of the seasons without disrupting it.

100%
KORONEIKI VARIETY

The Koroneiki olive variety is Greece’s gift to the world of olive oil. Small, dense, and packed with polyphenols, Koroneiki olives produce oil of remarkable intensity and health benefits.

We’ve chosen this variety not for yield, but for quality. Koroneiki thrives in our Mediterranean climate, developing the robust flavors and high antioxidant content that define premium Greek olive oil. When harvested early, as we do, these olives deliver oil of extraordinary nutritional and sensory value.

A living ecosystem

Our olives grow within a living Mediterranean ecosystem, where wild herbs, native plants, and olive trees exist in natural balance. Seasonal wildflowers protect the soil, support pollinators, and enrich the land, reflecting the health of the grove.

Gentle slopes, natural air circulation, and well-drained soils create ideal growing conditions, while a low-intervention approach allows nature to set the rhythm. Shaped by time, climate, and careful stewardship, the grove favors quality, resilience, and authenticity.

MEDEON TERROIR
UNIQUE MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE

The region’s moderate rainfall, creates natural stress that drives olives to produce higher concentrations of protective compounds. These same polyphenols that help the tree survive become the heart-healthy antioxidants that make Medéleon nutritionally exceptional.

Medeon, Akarnania sits at the intersection of Mediterranean and continental climates. The clay-rich soil, seasonal rainfall, and temperature variations create unique conditions that produce olive oil with distinctive character. This terroir is irreplaceable, it’s what makes Medéleon unique.

Our grove isn’t cultivated in isolation. It’s part of a global network of people who believe in good, clean, and fair food, without compromise on quality, land, or the people who work it.

Medéleon is now a member of the Slow Food Network, a movement defending biodiversity, local tradition, and a fairer relationship between food and its origin.

KNOW WHERE YOUR FOOD COMES FROM

Member of
OPEN FARMS Network

At Medéleon, we believe that knowing your food means knowing where it comes from.

That’s why we are proud to be part of Open Farm, a network connecting people with Greek farms and the producers behind the food they grow.

For us, being part of Open Farm is another way of making the story behind our olive oil more visible.

Because an olive oil bottle tells only part of the story.

The rest begins in the grove.

Transparency is showing the farm behind the oil.
